Crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) is a branch of situational crime prevention which focuses on environment design features to reduce the incidence and fear of crime. Goals include making an offender feel more vulnerable to detection and intervention. The natural flow of activities at a facility or neighborhood can also be designed to make people feel safer and more likely to deter and report unwanted behavior. CPTED relies on subconscious environmental clues to produce behavioral effects that reduce crime and victimizations, thereby improving in the quality of life and enhancing profitability for business.
The PFMA Loss Prevention Committee honors law enforcement professional with the Outstanding Law Enforcement Award. The award acknowledges law enforcement officers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to support PFMA and PCSC members in combating fraud and other types of losses. Two individuals will receive this honor prior to the start of the session.
