Honoring:  Dennis N. Hopkins, Giant Food Stores, LLC

Denny Hopkins brings 42 years of experience to the grocery store industry. He joined Giant Food Stores in 1966, when he started as a part-time bagger moving up through the ranks. He held such roles as department manager, store manager, specialist, district manager and regional vice president of store operations. He now serves as vice president of advertising and marketing, where he oversees the Advertising, Marketing, Consumer Affairs, Public Relations and Health and Wellness departments and serves as company spokesperson.

Hopkins is a native of south central Pennsylvania. He attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., completed the Cornell Executive Food Management Program, Store Supervisory Skills (Dial) Program, the Supermarket Chain Simulation (Quaker) Program and the Strategic Business Course at Babson College.

He recently received the Nick Riso Outstanding Achievement Award, which is presented to Giant associates who demonstrate an outstanding record of contribution to the company's success through selfless dedication, honesty and equity toward others and a cooperative spirit and concern for the betterment of the company, its associates and their families.

Hopkins is dedicated to the needs of our communities with a strong focus on feeding the hungry and improving the lives of our children. He is currently a member of the Penn State Children's Hospital Advisory Board as well as a member of the Executive Advisory Board. In addition, he serves as a member of the board of directors for the Garo Yepremian Foundation benefiting brain tumor research.
