The Food Trust is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Philadelphia dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food and information to make healthy decisions. Several PFMA members participated in the Food Trust’s campaigns in previous years. In 2015, it is looking to expand its efforts outside of Philadelphia, and would like to involve PFMA members as advisors in its Pennsylvania Fresh Food Financing Summit.
The summit is scheduled for early November. The goal of the summit is to identify opportunity and outline a pathway where Pennsylvania can continue to address the challenges of grocery store and other healthy food retailers in under served communities. At this event, the Food Trust will recognize and honor past participants and begin plans for future efforts to develop resources to increase the development of fresh food options in different regions across Pennsylvania.
Any PFMA members that are interested in participating in this event or the Food Trust’s continuing efforts are encouraged to contact Steve Neidlinger at 717-760-5922.
