Reception raised funds for the Democratic mayoral candidate's campaign
The Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association (PFMA) hosted a reception for Philadelphia mayoral candidate Jim Kenney at the Union League in downtown Philadelphia on August 25.
Mr. Kenney addressed the attendees at the reception. An overall theme of his remarks was operating the city in a much more collaborative nature than in previous administrations. He identified several examples of unnecessary regulatory oversight that he would like to avoid during his tenure. He identified poverty reduction and job creation as his administration’s top priorities, and mentioned several initiatives to create blue-collar jobs for citizens without secondary education. He also expressed his interest in expanding reentry opportunities for nonviolent criminals.
PFMA thanks those members who attended the reception, as well as the Kenney campaign for its participation.
