PFMA staff met with the Philadelphia Department of Revenue this month to provide input for new regulations currently being drafted to implement the sugar-sweetened beverage tax.
As the department drafts the regulations over the next few months, it is requesting feedback from stakeholders.
PFMA will host another conference call in September to follow up with the department on their progress and help address any questions members may have.
There is also the possibility that a lawsuit challenging the legality of the tax may be filed at that time. PFMA and its members opposed the tax.
