An unofficial Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) requirement for license-holders to have a separate entrance for their licensed premises has been prohibited in recent legislation. House Bill 1196, renowned for allowing distributors to sell six packs of beer, was passed by the General Assembly on October 26 and is expected to be signed by the Governor. It was amended by House Speaker Mike Turzai to remove PLCB’s discretion in requiring Restaurant (R) license holders to have a separate entrance and exit from their unlicensed premises.
PFMA members identified this requirement as a costly and prohibitive factor in applying for a license.
PFMA thanks Rep. Turzai for championing this change.
