Inside, customers can select food items from its full menu is available day and night, including first-cut pastrami, BBQ short rib, and fresh food options like fruit, salads, and wraps. Rutter's provided samples during the open house, including its funnel fries, which taste like a funnel cake. A gourmet coffee bar features espressos, lattes, fruit smoothies and more. These items can be enjoyed in the 35-seat dining area. The store is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week to accommodate any and all customer needs.
The store stands on the site of a former grocery store. Scott Hartman, president and CEO, says the project took 2 1/2 years of planning, including necessary road work, utilities and infrastructure. While the store took three months to build.
"The township was nice to work with," he said. "It's a good local community."
In honor of the opening, Rutter's donated $1,000 each to the Conestoga Valley Boosters, East Lampeter Police Department and the Upper Leacock Fire Department.
According to Hartman, Rutter's goal is to open five new stores a year.
