
Weis Markets held a grand opening celebration for its Hanover store and a celebrated the remodel of its Muncy, Pennsylvania store this month.
The company celebrated the grand reopening of its remodeled store in the Grandview Plaza on Baltimore Street in Hanover on Friday, February 5.
The store, a former Nell's location, reopened as a Weis Markets in September after an extensive remodel. The 56,100 square-foot store now has a 30-seat beer café, which opened in mid-January, with more than 900 varieties of local crafts and imports, including Wyndridge Farms and Liquid Hero Brewery craft beers, which are brewed in York County. Customers can also create their own six packs. Beer can be purchased for takeout or on-site consumption.
Since September, the store has added 1,600 new products. It has all new décor, expanded and upgraded fresh departments, a larger variety of natural and organics and an expanded floral department and pharmacy. The store now sells fresh, store made sushi and hot pizza in the deli.
During the celebration, the store made $500 donations to three local organizations: the Parkville Fire Company, Penn Township Police Department and God's Meal Barrel, a local food pantry. Weis Markets also announced a $1,000 donation to the South Western School District Education Foundation and a $500 donation to the YWCA of Hanover.
On February 9, Weis completed the remodel of its Muncy, Pennsylvania store to include a new drive-through pharmacy window.
The remodeled store, which is located on 1272 East Penn Street, features all new décor and an improved layout that makes shopping easier. Its store-within-a-store offers approximately 1,000 natural, organic and gluten free products.
An in-store beer café opened in December. The 30-seat café sells beer for both take-out and on-premise consumption and offers more than 900 varieties, including a wide selection of imported and regional craft beers produced by Riepstine's Pub (Williamsport), Rusty Rail Brewing (Mifflinburg), Old Forge Brewing (Danville) and Elk Creek (Milheim).

The company now operates beer cafés in 40 stores in Pennsylvania including its Lycoming Creek Road location in Williamsport.
