• On December 9, PFMA hosted a meeting with officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue and supermarket and convenience store members to work on updating the definition of a meal for sales tax purposes.

• The Delaware Food Industry Council (DFIC) hosted 80 attendees at the 13th Annual Winterfest event at the Christiana Hilton in Wilmington, DE on December 8. Giant of Landover donated 1,000 turkeys to the Delaware Food Bank and DFIC member donations provided 102,000 meals for needy families. Congratulations to the award winners for this year: Advocate of the Year, Dan Tanzer, ShopRite; Pharmacist of the Year, John McGill, Walgreens; Retailer of the Year, Giant of Landover; and, Partnership of the Year, Walgreens and People with Disabilities.

• Annette Knapp attended a December 8 conference call webinar hosted by the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) regarding the final menu labeling rule released on November 25, 2014. • David McCorkle and Alex Baloga are working with members of the Wolf administration transition team to provide information on the association and our positions on important policy matters

• On November 19, Alex Baloga participated in a Women, Infants and Children program (WIC) Vendor Advisory Group meeting in Harrisburg.
