Food facilities required to register with the U.S. FDA must renew their food facility registrations this year during the period beginning on October 1, 2014 and ending on December 31, 2014. FDA encourages food facilities to renew their registrations early on in the three-month renewal period.
The registration requirements in section 415 of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act apply to domestic and foreign food facilities that manufacture, process, pack, or hold food for human or animal consumption in the United States.
However, please note that retail food stores, along with restaurants, do not have to register with FDA. Some PFMA retailers have reported erroneously receiving notices to do so. Source: FDA
