Cassidy Hayden, Fairless Hills, PA

“Please accept my sincere gratitude as a recipient of the Thomas R. and Laura Ridge Scholarship. I hope that in the future I can be in a position to pay this opportunity forward to someone else and make a difference in students’ lives as you have done with mine.”
Cassidy Hayden will study Psychology at LaSalle University starting next month. Her mother, Jennifer Hayden, works for PFMA member McCaffrey’s Markets.
The Conwell-Egan Catholic High School graduate was a member of the National Honor Society; earned First Honors all four years, and the President’s Award for Educational Excellence. She also played varsity lacrosse and volleyball; wrote for the school yearbook and served as a tour guide/student ambassador.
She was very active in the community as a volunteer board member for the Community Service Corps, tutor, Cancer Awareness Club, Four Diamonds Mini THON.
In her essay, Hayden wrote that her teacher Ms. Benjamin made an impact on her career choice.
“I found myself developing a genuine interest in learning about the science of human behavior and how the brain functions, especially since Ms. Benjamin made it very interesting,” she wrote. “I’ve always been told to do what I love, and that’s where my major was born.”
