
Janine Calabrese, a part-time facility caretaker for a Country Fair in Erie, Pennsylvania, and seven other Pennsylvania Special Olympians were honored by the House of Representatives before its session on September 21.
Calabrese, 28, is a swimmer who competed in 100-meter freestyle and backstroke, and the 200-meter backstroke at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles this summer. She won two gold medals and a bronze medal during the games.
In addition to her recognition by the House of Representatives, Country Fair recognized her achievements during its anniversary celebration last month.
