The opening of three new Beer and Wine Eateries today brings Giant Food Stores beer and wine offer total to 51 Pennsylvania supermarkets. The company opened the eateries at its 1250 Cocoa Avenue store in Hershey; 760 Pennsylvania 113 in Souderton; and 2104 Van Reed Road in West Lawn, Pa.
All three locations carry an expansive selection of domestic and international wines for all tastes and budgets, as well as a wide assortment of beer, including craft, domestic and imported. The stores will host grand opening celebrations on Friday, December 1 with beer and wine tastings from 5 to 7 p.m.
"Just in time for the holiday season, our Beer & Wine Eateries can help save customers time with one stop shopping for food, beer and wine for all of their entertaining and gift giving needs," said Erik Keptner, senior vice president of sales, merchandising and marketing for Giant Food Stores.
In addition to the vast selection of beer and wine, customers have the option to "mix-a-six, where they can choose from a variety of craft beers to create their own six-pack. They can also select from a variety of sandwiches, wraps, subs and salads and other beverages to eat-in or take-out.
The eateries provide seating for 30 customers and are open Monday-Saturday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
All cashiers will enforce Giant's 100% proof-of-age policy for beer and wine sales. They will ask for proper identification, which includes a valid driver's license, passport or military identification card, from any customer seeking to purchase alcohol, regardless of age.
