Entenmann’s Products Recall
Bimbo Bakeries USA issued a voluntary recall of select Entenmann’s Little Bites products last month due to the potential presence of plastic pieces. The company had a production malfunction at its Illinois production facility.
The product being recalled has “Best By” dates, UPC codes and was distributed in the states identified below. In each case, the code number “3098” is printed next to the Best By date on the outside of the box.
The following products were recalled:

Entenmann’s Little Bites Chocolate Chip Muffins – 5 pack (Net Weight 8.25 oz.), Best By Date: October 8, 2016/3098, UPC Code: 7203001353
Entenmann’s Little Bites Chocolate Chip Muffins – 10 pack (Net Weight 1 lb. 0.5 oz.), Best By Date: October 8, 2016/ 3098; UPC Code: 7203002111

Martin’s Potato Chips Sues Competitor
According to the York Daily Record, Martin’s Potato Chips recently filed a lawsuit against Old Lyme Gourmet Company, maker of Deep River Snacks potato chips, alleging that their logo is too similar to the Martin’s kettle logo.
In the lawsuit, Martin’s accuses Old Lyme Gourmet of trademark infringement, since it uses a kettle as part of its logo. Martin’s hold a federal trademark for its logo.
Weis Celebrates Grand Re-Opening in Kutztown
Sunbury-based Weis Markets hosted a grand re-opening celebration for its newly remodeled Kutztown supermarket on Thursday, August 11.
The store features expanded natural and organic departments as well as updated deli, bakery and seafood departments. The company also added a 30-seat beer café in July with more than 900 varieties of local craft beers, including those brewed by Weybacher, Victory and Saucony Creek. Customers have the option to create their own six packs or beer can be purchased for takeout or on-site consumption.
