Katie Robbins is entering her freshman year at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she plans to study psychology.
She graduated from Matoaca High School in Chesterfield, Virginia, where she was active in the Key Club, serving as treasurer; Specialty Center, Freshman mentor, yearbook, and secretary of the Latin Club. She also founded the Positive mind, Positive Body club and served as its president. Her community activities include volunteering as a swim team coach, Sunday school teacher, tutor and a youth sports volunteer at the YMCA.
Robbins also won several awards including, Student of the Year for 2015-16; the Allen and Allen scholarship, Leader in Me award, Gator Award, Stingray award and Outstanding Latin student. She was a member of the National Honor Society, achieved distinguished honor roll, and the Academic Excellence letter.
Her mother, Marie Robbins, works for Martin’s Food Markets, part of Giant Food Stores, sponsor of her scholarship.
