“I am unbelievably excited to have been selected as a recipient. Balancing school, work and activities has never been an easy task, but being selected as a recipient of this year’s scholarship is the proof that all the hard work truly pays off.”
Kiersten Millward plans to use her Ridge Scholarship at West Chester University where she will study Political Science. She works as a cashier for Giant Food Stores, sponsor of her scholarship.
The Daniel Boone Area High School graduate was active in tennis, Class Council, French Club, Key Club, Newspaper Club and Model Senate of Berks County. She was also a member of the National Honor Society.
Millward says the recent U.S. Presidential Election fueled her interest in Political Science.
“From campaign trail to election night and beyond, this current political climate has stirred up a fire within me, composed of my beliefs and morals,” she wrote. “All of the events and factors have helped me decide, for certain, that a future in Political Science is the right choice for me.”
