Madelyn Grossman will begin her college studies at Elizabethtown College next month in pursuit of an accounting degree.
The Cumberland Valley High School graduate received many accolades including National Honor Society, Central Penn Parent Magazine/Channel 27 News Caped Crusader Award for Community Service, Cumberland Valley High School Award of Excellence for academic and extracurricular performance, and Young Women of Merit “Soroptimist Scholarship.
She served as president of the Key Club, a senior mentor for the Cumberland Valley Science and Engineering Student Competition, a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, It Takes One Club, Red Cross Club, and the school musical production team.
Grossman received recognition for her community service, which includes working at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, a Pinnacle Health internship at Harrisburg Hospital, and Hampden Township Water Quality Testing.
In her essay, Grossman wrote about how her experience in an Economics class and as a student representative at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank reinforced her decision to study accounting and ignited her interest in serving the non-profit sector.
