“I feel extremely grateful to be a recipient of this scholarship and I would like to wholeheartedly thank the judges for choosing me.”
Mary-Catherine Ingaldi will enter her freshman year at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania this fall, where she plans to study athletic training.
The Mercyhurst Preparatory School graduate earned first and second academic honors and induction into the National Honor Society. She served as treasurer and vice president of the baking club and was a member of the International Thespian Society, peer leadership, theater, cheerleading and the spirit squad.
She volunteered for the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Summer Program as a junior camp counselor and for Feed the Hungry.
In her personal essay, Ingaldi describes her love of sports and her desire to combine it with her love for biology, anatomy and physiology.
“I found that majoring in athletic training would give me that opportunity by affording me the knowledge of how to treat minor sports injuries along with the privilege of watching many different types of athletic contests.”
She is the daughter of Cindy Ingaldi, who works for Dean Foods/Meadow Brook Dairy, a member of the Northwestern Pennsylvania Food Council, sponsor of her Ridge Scholarship.
