City Councilman William Greenlee's bill (141026), which calls for Philadelphia employers (with ten or more employees) to provide their workers with paid sick leave, was signed into law on February 12 by Mayor Nutter.
The bill requires all employers with 10 or more workers to provide them with one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked -- up to a maximum of 40 hours or five days a year.
The ordinance goes into effect 90 days after its signage into law.
2015 is an election year for Philadelphia mayoral and city council positions.
