Governor Wolf's Chief of Staff Katie McGinty resigned her office in late July. She has been rumored as the front-running Democrat to challenge incumbent Senator Pat Toomey in the 2016 Senatorial election and she announced her Senatorial campaign on Tuesday, August 4.
Replacing McGinty as the Governor's Chief of Staff will be longtime Democratic campaign staffer Mary Isenhour. Isenhour has been serving as the Governor's Secretary of Legislative Affairs, and has an excellent reputation at the capitol. Many legislators and pundits from both parties have applauded this move as a way to inject life into the state budget stalemate.
