
The National Frozen and Refrigerated Food Association (NFRA) will launch its 33rd Annual March Frozen Food Month Promotion next week. Take a Fresh Look at Frozens! is the 2016 theme, which helps retailers promote and increase their frozen food sales.
This year, NFRA partnered with Coupons.com to offer print at home and save to card coupons from sponsoring companies that will help drive customers to stores. Non-couponing companies will also engage consumers online.
The association also partnered with CBS to get sponsoring companies messages on national television, through CBS websites and social media properties.
Through Cool Food Bloggers, chefs, dieticians and food experts will create custom blog posts to promote sponsoring companies and frozen foods.
NFRA will use the EasyHomeMeals.com website to promote frozen foods and its 10,000 sweepstakes. Hussmann is sponsoring a weekly freezer giveaway throughout the month on the EasyHomeMeals Facebook page.
The EasyHomeMeals.com website continues to provide recipes and tips on frozen foods and recognition for sponsoring companies. Last March, the site had more than 750,000 visitors. In addition, NFRA will utilize the EasyHomeMeals social media platforms — Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube — to promote March Frozen Food Month.
NFRA is offering a variety of point-of-purchase and promotional materials for retailers to buy to help drive consumers to the frozen food aisles. Online orders are accepted on its website. The association also offers its logos for download on its website at nfraweb.org. Just click on the promotion planning button.
Retailers who promote March Frozen Food Month can enter their marketing and merchandising efforts in the Golden Penguin Awards competition. Categories include in-store display, in-store event, community involvement, social media and digital marketing, traditional marketing, private brand campaigns, integrated marketing campaigns with subcategories for retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, sales agents and local associations; and the top marketer awards, which will be presented to the best-of-the-best in the integrated marketing subcategories.
The Golden Penguin Awards will be presented during the NFRA Convention Awards Gala, October 22-26 in Washington, DC.
