You couldn't miss the hype outside the new Rutter's store at 15 New Enterprise Drive in Leesport, Berks County, as company officials, store officials, and special guests cut the ribbon on the chain's 76th location Tuesday afternoon.
Food samplings were abound, country radio station i105 provided entertainment, and a prize wheel offered giveaways to hundreds of customers shuffling in and out of the store on a beautiful fall day.
"Leesport is a welcoming community,” Scott Hartman, Rutter’s President and CEO said. “Our culture is driven on hard work and a commitment to our customers, always striving to provide the best service and offerings. I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of a community that shares these values.”
The new Rutter’s is 10,257 square feet and provides 16 fueling positions and 5 dedicated high-speed truck diesel fueling lanes. Offering all the amenities that make Rutter’s an industry leader, this location will feature Rutter’s award-winning food and beverage menus, Rutter’s 29-degree Beer Cave, and seating for 30.
Following the ribbon-cutting at 3 p.m., Rutter's presented 1,000 checks to the Berks/Schuylkill Helping Harvest Food Bank, Northern Berks Regional Police Department, and the Union Fire Co. 1 of Leesport. The event was supported by local elected officials. Craig Lutz from Senator David Argall’s office and Hannah Sellers from State Representative Barry Jozwiak’s office were in attendance.
Customers will find new auto fueling options, including flex fuel, unleaded 15, and ethanol-free gasoline, along with the standard options of regular, mid-grade, premium gasoline, and auto diesel. For trucks and commercial vehicles, this location will provide high-speed truck diesel and in-lane DEF. Rutter’s full-service convenience store offers a wide variety of fresh and packaged foods and general merchandise. Additionally, this new location will offer an assortment of beverage options, including local and national wine, along with a vast selection of: domestic, premium, craft, and imported beer and cider.
The beverage assortment will also include fresh milk and teas from Rutter’s Dairy, which started 98 years ago. This location will be a future home to a Rutter’s Video Gaming Terminal Room, pending application review. The designated VGT room will provide customers, 21 years of age and older, with five machines to play and enjoy all the offerings of a Rutter’s store.
Guests can also enjoy free WiFi, large restrooms and an extensive beverage offering, which provides over 600 cold drink choices. This location will employ 50 team members and operate 24 hours a day.
