Weis Markets celebrated the grand re-openings of its Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg stores on March 1 with ribbon cuttings and $8,000 in donations to local non-profit organizations, including a $5,000 check presentation to the Pocono Family YMCA.
The newly remodeled Stroudsburg store, located at 1070 N. 9th Street, has been completely redesigned, with brand new, modern décor, expanded food service options and variety, new natural/organic and gluten-free sections and the addition of an in-store beer café, which opened in the fall.
Weis Markets in East Stroudsburg, located at 695 East Courtland Street, underwent similar remodeling. In addition to a beer café, which opened in December, the store also has expanded produce and bakery departments.
Along with the donation to the Pocono Family YMCA, each store presented $1,500 to community organizations including local fire and police stations and youth associations for a total of $3,000 in additional donations. The beneficiaries of Weis Markets’ donations at the Stroudsburg store included the Stroud Township Fire Department, Monroe County Meals on Wheels and Colonial Intermediate Unit 20’s Stroudsburg High School Life Skills Program. The East Stroudsburg store presented donations to the East Stroudsburg Fire Department, the East Stroudsburg Youth Association and the Stroud Area Regional Police Department.
