Preparing for Pennsylvania’s EBT Chip Card Transition
As part of their 2026-27 budget agreement, Pennsylvania lawmakers included language requiring the state to transition its Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card system from magstripe to chip cards by January 2028. Pennsylvania joins numerous other states making the same transition.
