Paid Sick Leave The City of Pittsburgh Paid Sick Days Act went into effect on March 15, 2020. The Ordinance guarantees an opportunity for covered employees to acquire paid sick time hours. Pittsburgh Paid Sick Leave Guidelines | pittsburghpa.gov Ordinance 11481-20 was filed in Allegheny County Council in April 2020. Currently the ordinance in is the Committee on Health and Human Services where it remains the subject of ongoing negotiations. The measure would require companies with 15 or more workers to provide at least five paid sick days annually to those who work full-time, while employees at smaller businesses could accrue up to three sick days a year. Independent contractors, as well as state and federal workers and seasonal employees are not covered.
