All retailers who sell food in Pennsylvania are eligible to join the Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association (PFMA). Our members enjoy the following benefits:

Advocacy

PFMAs Government Relations Team represents the food industry at the state capitol, making certain that legislators understand the food industry's point of view on legislative issues. PFMA is actively engaged in the following issues:
  • Adult Beverage Sales
  • Cigarette Pricing
  • Milk Marketing Board Pricing
  • Minimum Wage
  • SNAP/WIC Regulations and Funding
  • Hours of Service issues
  • Other issues — affordable health care, pension reform, pharmacy immunizations, property tax reform and gas taxes. Our lobbyists also monitor lottery expansion, marketplace fairness, plastic bag bans/taxes and WIC funding.

Business Services

PFMA operates several business subsidiaries that provide a variety of services to retailers. Members who utilize PFMA business services help the association, since revenue generated from the business subsidiaries helps fund member service programs.
  • Pennsylvania Coupon Redemption Services, Inc. offers coupon redemption services for businesses through the state.
  • MEMO Financial Services, Inc. offers a full line of financial service products to members and other retail locations throughout the United States.

Programs

The Association offers programs and seminars to assist retailers and their employees. PFMA members make sure they are in compliance with pricing accuracy through the Scanning Certification Program. In addition, our seminars bring nationally recognized experts and training specialists to provide workshops on current industry topics.

Communications

PFMA members have access to industry regulations, legislation, trends and events through our monthly newsletter  Spectrum. In addition, PFMA sends Legislative and Committee updates via email updates. PFMA also utilizes social media to keep in touch with our members.

Scholarships

All members, their families and their employees are eligible to apply for the Thomas R. and Laura Ridge Scholarships to attend the college of their choice.

Are you ready to enjoy the benefits of PFMA membership? Join us today!
